Problems were piling up for Flexipack's production line: Automation was outdated, spare parts were increasingly difficult to source, and quality issues were slowing down production. Risks were escalating, and the situation couldn't continue as it was for much longer. The equipment, installed in 1998, was in desperate need of modernization.
Flexipack decided to turn to Finno Solutions Oy. The collaboration was built on a strong foundation with a familiar professional, Kari Kivistö.
"Kari has been involved in several demanding projects, and his expertise and solution-oriented approach are truly exceptional," says Flexipack's Director of Production, Johnny Jakobsen.
Together, we began planning how to modernize the 5K film line to meet today's standards.
The plan progressed smoothly: we agreed on the scope of delivery, acquired the necessary components, and scheduled the installation. The most important priority was to minimize the line's downtime.
Today, the situation is entirely different. The modernized control room provides machine operators with a clear and up-to-date view of the line's operations, and new updates to the control system have increased both efficiency and quality.
Quality has been ensured, and productivity has improved. Our goal was a 20–25% improvement, and we have achieved it.
